What are dentures?

Dentures are prosthetic teeth made to replace missing teeth. They are often made of acrylic, or mix of acrylic and metal. Dentures can be either partial or complete. A partial denture replaces some missing teeth while a complete denture is used when all natural teeth are missing. Dentures are removable, and are a quick fix for missing teeth.

Your gums and jawbone naturally shrink over time, which may cause the denture to subsequently fit less securely. This can lead to discomfort, soreness, infections, and in some cases changes in facial support. As such, it is important to visit your dentist annually for check-ups and adjustments.
